Recent ActivityLIBRARY NEWS  Author Jacqueline West VisitFiction author Jacqueline West will be visiting Porter on Tuesday, June 4th. Students in grades 4-6 will be hearing a 45 min assembly in the library and will have a chance to get autographs from the author afterwards. Middle school students in the Battle of the Books Club will also be meeting Ms. West for lunch on that day too. Teachers/students in grades 4-6 will be receiving flyers about pre-ordering books this coming Monday. Please make sure that any forms returned with payments are turned into Deb daily. All pre-orders are due by May 20th. Ms. West is the author of “The Books of Elsewhere” series.  Summer Reading Lists AvailableIt's already that time to start thinking about summer reading! We have updated our Summer Reading Lists for each grade level. Lists are available from the left side of the Fusion page. Go to "Library" and then click on the second sub-tab. (Summer Reading Lists) Please make sure students also complete the necessary documentation forms and turn in the forms by the end of the first week of school for their extra credit grades.
 Parent VolunteersWe love to have parent volunteers help us shelve books, assist with book fairs and work on special projects in the library! If you're interested in volunteering in the library, please contact Mrs. Johnson (johnsobl@pwcs.edu) to schedule dates and times!

These links will provide you with downloadable music and music bits without copyright permission, payment, and citations. These can only be downloaded if used in the classroom or on student presentations. You can cut and paste these pictures into your project without needing copyright permisison and citations. Take a look at the elementary and middle school lists for this year's top picks in Virginia! |
