LIBRARY NEWS
image
April is School Library Month
Each year, the month of April is designated as the month to celebrate the important role that libraries have in schools. This year, Mrs. Banks, our school librarian will be speaking in front of the PWC school board on April 6th advocating for support of our school libraries. Please feel free to tune in that night to see her and a Porter student address why libraries need to be changing and focusing on the needs of their patrons. PLUS-learn about some of the cool projects happening in our school library's Makerspace.

Did you know that Megan McDonald, the popular author of the Judy Moody and Stink series is the national spokesperson for School Library Month sponsored by the American Association of School Librarians. Find out more about her and her mission here.

Parent Volunteers
We love to have parent volunteers help us shelve books, assist with book fairs and work on special projects in the library! If you're interested in volunteering in the library, please contact Mrs. Johnson (johnsobl@pwcs.edu) or Mrs. Banks (banksdl@pwcs.edu) to schedule dates and times!

We look forward to working with you! Some of our volunteers may also be helping with our newly designed Makerspace!
